Frequently asked questions - IKEA Shuttle bus

 

What to do if I want to use IKEA Shuttle bus? 

First you need to create an account (profile) in the booking system. Got to www.ikeashuttlebus.se and then click on “Click here to create a profile”. 

Follow the instructions to create an account. 

 

Why do I need to create a profile? 

As this is an external website without any connection to IKEA HR system or CDS, you need to create a profile and log in. It’s also for security so only co-workers employed at IKEA/Inter IKEA (incl. Consultants) use the bus services. Regular checks of profiles are done to secure this! 

 

What log in details should be used? 

To log in you will use your e-mail or phone number for username and your password, both added while creating the profile. If you have forgotten your password, please click on link Forgot your password?” at the log in page. 

 

I can’t find my company in the drop-down menu, what should I do? 

Consultant: Choose the company that you are working on behalf of in Sweden.  

Employed abroad: Choose the company that you are visiting in Sweden. 

Employed Sweden: Contact workplace.services@ingka.ikea.com for help 

 

The system claims that my e-mail address is already in use. What should I do?  

 

Do I need access to IKEA Inside or IKEA Home to book seats and buy tickets?  

No. This is an external website and can be used outside IKEA network. 

 

Is there an app I can use too book seats and buy tickets?  

There is no app to be used due to security and cost reasons. The webpage to the booking tool is mobile adapted and you can save this page as an icon on your phone.  

 

How do I book a seat?  

Login to your account.  

Qlick on Book. 

Select from and where you want to travel (bus stops) 

Select date for outbound trip and then click “Return trip to choose date for return trip. 

Select how many people you would like to book for and click “Continue”.  

Select what time you would like to take the bus and click “Continue” 

If you are booking for more than one person, you need to add names of all travelers. 

If you want to book more than one trip you click on “Book this trip for more dates” 

Choose payment for the travel. If you commute to and from work, you choose the payment option for private travel where you pay with Swish. If you travel within business (from one office to another), you choose “Business” as payment. If you bought Monthly ticket or Multi ticket the amount will be deducted directly from that ticket.  

In the next step you see you contact information – to what email and phone number your ticket is sent to. Click “I approve the terms and conditions” and then click “Complete booking”. 

 

Can I make bookings for more than one day? 

Yes, click on “Book this trip for more dates” when booking a trip. 

 

What ticket/payment type should I use when booking my seat? 

Monthly ticket is used if you commute often and have bought a monthly ticket.  

Multi ticket is used if you travel occasionally, less than 2 times a week. 

Single is used if you only want to buy ticket for one specific occasion. 

Business is used if you use the bus in business purpose, travelling from your office to another office for a business meeting. 

 

Why are the ticket prices on IKEA Shuttle bus not lower compared to Skånetrafiken prices? 

Due to tax regulations. To avoid benefit taxation for the co-workers that uses the bus, the prices need to be somewhat higher than the ticket prices at Skånetrafiken. 

 

How does it work with purchase of a Monthly ticket? 

Monthly tickets are valid 30 days from purchase date. If you commute and want to book a seat (choose Monthly) you need to have a valid Monthly ticket. You can buy several Monthly tickets at the same time; the second ticket will be automatically valid when the first one expires. The booking system are programmed with information about the timetables around Christmas and summer. If you buy a Monthly ticket on the 22 December (last day for bus schedule is 23 December) the system knows that the ticket should be valid 29 days after the buses starts running again. 

 

How does it work with purchase of a Multi ticket? 

When buying a Multi ticket you buy 20 travels but pay for 16. The multi ticket consists of 2500 points and with every booking you make, 125 points will be deducted from your Multi ticket. When cancelling you trip in time your points will be refunded. 

 

For how long is a Multi ticket valid? 

There is no expiry date on this type of the ticket. But the prices will follow Skånetrafiken and therefore there might be changes in how many points that will be needed to book a trip. 

 

What if I cannot use my booked trip, what to do? Do I need to cancel? 

You need to cancel your booked trip if you are not using it. When cancel, you leave your seat to someone else. If you trip have been paid by Multi ticket or Single, you will also get a refund. 

Please note that you can only have one booking per day in each direction. 

 

Can I change an existing reservation? 

No, you must cancel the trip and then book a new one. 

 

How do I cancel a reservation? 

Go to your profile and click on your “Name” that you will find in the up-right corner. 

You will see all your reservation numbers (bookings) under “Your bookings”.  

Click on the reservation that you would like to cancel and click on “Proceed to cancellation.” 

Tick the square next to your name and press “Cancel selected routes.  

Please note that cancellations can only be made up until departure from first stop (for example up until departure from IKEA Intralogistics 16.00) 

 

Why do I need to check in on the bus? 

Due to security reasons. IKEA is organizing these buses, which means that IKEA also needs to know exactly who is on the bus. This is done via check in on the bus that is connected to the profile back-office system. So, if an accident occurs, we will fast and easy be able to see who is on the buses. 

Do I need a booking number when entering the bus? 

No, use the QR code you received for your reservation. 

No check in is done via IKEA ID-card or manually via passenger list on the bus. 

 

Can I book seat for another person than myself? 

Yes, you can book up till 9 people via your profile on the same day.  

Can I print a receipt for my ticket purchase? 

Yes, go to your profile and click on your “Name” that you will find in the up-right corner. 

There you will find the list with receipts for each day you have purchased your trips. Click on the total next to the date and you will open the receipt. There you can print your receipt. 

 

Can the buses be used for family members or friends? 

This bus is mainly for employees at Ingka and Inter IKEA companies. Single, not repeated trips such as commuting, is allowed for family members living in the same household as the employee. It’s also OK to use if you are a member of “IKEA Vuxenklubben”. 

Booking shall be made subject to availability not earlier than 5 days before departure to avoid blocking seats for employees too long in advance. 

Single tickets to be bought at the same time as booking the seat. 

Please note! Family members are not covered by any insurance when travelling with the bus.
